Tent Camping on an African Safari

Winding through narrow roads and slowly climbing our way higher in our safari rovers, we arrived at the Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge. It was simply amazing! We each had our own luxury tent perched on top of a hill overlooking a tree covered valley.  Our three day safari included Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire which included sights of 4 of the Big Five safari animals.

I came to Africa to climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds for clean water projects in two Tanzanian villages. So when we arrived at the Rhotia Valley Tented Camp it was beyond ironic that we were without water our first night because elephants had taken out the water line. How many times can you say you didn't have water because of elephants?
