Stairway to Annapurna Base Camp - Day 8

It was our last day on the mountain... a bitter sweet parting. After 8 day without a proper shower, I was ready to head to town and get a hot shower. However, we were having such a great time on the mountain and the scenery was incredible, it was hard to let it end. As it goes, "All good things must come to an end!"

We had a leisurely morning, making it possible to FaceTime with my family. After breakfast, a photo session to capture our last teahouse, and conversations with a volunteer teacher from the States living in the community, we began our final path in the Annapurna region.

The lower we descended, the more vibrant the flowers became. We kept up a good pace, perhaps it was the desire for a shower. At one of our stops to rest, we met a man from Australia heading our direction. After parting we discussed giving him a ride in our Jeep, as he was planning on taking the local bus. He caught up to us, so I asked if he'd like to join our Jeep ride. It was nice to discuss our shared, yet separate, experiences on the mountain.

Our extraction point was a dirt road seeming in the middle of nowhere... very Bear Grylls! We had a 3ish hour drive back to Pokhara, where a nice hotel and shower waited for us. Ah creature comforts!

It's hard to fully capture the experience in words and pictures. Words like amazing, glorious, and incredible just fall short. It just beat if you do the trip yourself so you understand how indescribable an experience like this really is like.
